Wire and electrode compatibility
- MIG wire: Accommodates up to 0.9 mm (0.035 in) solid wire for gas MIG and 0.9 mm (0.035 in) flux wire for gasless MIG.
- Spools: Use MIG wire on D100/D200 spools weighing less than 10 lbs.
- DC stick welding: Excellent welding performance with integrated hot start and arc force for E7018, E6011 and E6010 cellulose electrodes. Electrode specification: 13/16 inch (5 mm) at 220V.
- Cellulose electrodes: DC electrode capability accommodates cellulose electrodes; 1/8 inch electrodes have a high duty cycle.

Dual 110V–220V operation suits DIY and industrial projects, with welding up to 250A at 220V.
Automatic compensation for voltage fluctuations, overcurrent protection, overload protection and temperature control help provide safe, stable operation. Automatic hot start and self-adjusting arc force minimize electrode sticking in the melt without affecting arc stability or increasing spatter.
Plasma cutting and cooling
The plasma-cutting bias-current purge feature directs air past the tip to create a charged plasma stream for a clean cut.
Backflow primarily provides cooling. Longer cuts through thicker metals at high current require more backflow to dissipate heat. Recommended air pressure: 58–72 PSI.
- Maximum gap thickness: 15/32 inch (12 mm) at 220V, 40A.
- Clean cut: 25/64 inch (10 mm) at 220V, 40A.

I bought this on the recommendation of a friend and I have no regrets, it works great for melting 7018 at 110v, in fact I use it at 110v and it welds well with migs too, I also recommend the brand’s own wires, in short, if you are thinking of buying a good quality welder at a reasonable price, buy this one with confidence.

This laser welder has different settings than a typical Miller or Lincoln welder, but still performs very well. It takes a little time to get used to the heat and wire speed settings, but nothing special. It produces a nice bead, and it doesn't feel cheap. The wire feeder is metal, not plastic, so that's a plus. I had to buy a regulator and hose to use the gas, but that was only another $25. Overall, I would definitely buy this again. It also helped me build a 2018 Camaro table for the automotive class I teach.

I am no professional welder, but I am an experienced engineer. Some decades ago I used a cheap stick welder on cars. Now with this welder it is much easier on thin metal. The machine is much smaller and not as heavy, which I do also appreciate. I checked the output voltage and all looked fine. Then I tried it on a small piece of a metal stand for a fan - see picture after I painted it. It worked pretty good. Now it is stable to carry the fan. So the machine paid itself already half off because we do not need to buy a new fan.
